1. Where is the narrator? What does she hear? What does that tell you about her? 2. Why does the narrator think that her parents are discussing the events of September 11, 2001? 3. Why is the narrator unable to talk about the events of September 11 “with any sort of equanimity” any sort of calm? 4. “The statement was rather garbled with indignation, and certainly not a good example of his near-flawless English.” (6th paragraph) What does this statement say about the narrator’s father?
