Deep in the Earth Foliated=grains are in bands Nonfoliated=grain are not in bands Recrystallization=crystals change in size or minerals change in composition Examples: Marble Slate Schist

10 Rock Identification Activity
At each station, there is a different rock. Observe the rock in great detail. Use the guide to identify the rock as either a SEDIMENTARY, METAMORPHIC, or IGNEOUS rock. Challenge! If time allows, use the second key to identify the specific name for the rock. Rotate on the SQUEAK!
