2. Message re: Bikes
We have spoken to you before about riding your bikes in around the school grounds. Whilst most of you have done as you have been asked we must insist that the remainder of you, who are making it dangerous for other students and members of staff begin to do so.
We will be asking Head’s of Year and Tutors to reiterate this point and hopefully this is all that will be required.
Also whilst on the subjects of bikes please make sure that you:
use, where possible, the bike racks at the front of school.
Use a lock that is of a high quality
DO NOT lock your bike to the gates - they may have to be removed for safety reasons and this can cause undue upset.

3. Camp 2019
Any Year 8 interested in the 2019 Exmouth Camp must return their reply slips to student reception by 10th November Any questions see Mrs Parbery

4. Dance Showcase
Don’t’ forget: This years Dance Showcase will take place on 31st October and 1st November at 7pm Tickets are still available on both the Academy and College websites and from both Academy and College receptions Prices £6 and £4 for concessions

5. Drama Club
Drama Club will run at Lunchtime on Fridays from 1.30pm to 1.55 pm. It will take place in the Drama Studio (Room 28)

6. Year 11 – Post 16 options
All year 11 students will need to apply for their next stage of education (including apprenticeships) before Christmas.
UCAS Progress will be launched on 6th November in your PSHCE lesson, and in preparation for this there are some open days coming up. If you are not sure of what you are looking for  after GCSEs, it is worth attending open days.
If you would like an appointment with Miss Martin regarding options for post 16 – ask your tutor to forward your name.

9. Year 10 - Work Experience
You should have returned your Parental Consent forms already but a reminder: Employer forms need to be returned straight after Christmas

10. Year 9 – Work Shadowing
Year 9 Work shadowing ‘Good luck to all the year 9 students going out on work experience – I hope you have an enjoyable day’ Remember – be polite, dress smartly, get involved. The more you engage the more you will get out of the day

11. History Competition Who is the most influential person from History?
Task:
Choose your person.
Explain why they deserve the accolade of ‘most influential person from history’. You have 250 words to argue your case.
Deadline: All entries must be submitted to Mrs Addison by Friday 2nd November.
Winners will receive the following amounts in gift vouchers: 1st prize = £25, 2nd prize = £20, 3rd prize = £15 and four runners up will receive £10 each.

12. Yr 10 & 11 GCSE English ‘Drop In’
Drop in sessions every Wednesday lunchtime in room 30 (Mr Mackay's room). A chance to complete homework, ask questions about the GCSE texts, go through elements of English you are unsure of...anything to do with GCSE English. It's drop in, so please just come along and stay for as long as you need to...there's no minimum or maximum.
