2 About Takeaways for Nonprofits Takeaways for United Way
Training on program planning and evaluation, logic models and program measures. Development of an up-to-date program logic model. Program evaluation in collaboration with Eastern Washington University (EWU) Master of Social Work (MSW) students and Spokane County United Way’s funded programs. Takeaways for United Way Strengthen program design by clearly articulating goals, objectives, program theory and performance measures. Contribute to making constructive changes to enhance program effectiveness. Showcase the effectiveness of a program to the community and donors.

Arc of Spokane Community-Minded Enterprises Eastern Washington 211 Odyssey Youth Movement Salvation Army Volunteers of America YFA Connections YWCA Spokane 10 Weeks (9/28 to 12/7) 30 + Hours with EWU MSW students and Dr. Loke $1,500 mini-grants Training on program planning and evaluation, logic models and program measures Based on mutual agreement between Community-Minded Enterprises and Dr. Loke, carry-out one of the following in collaboration with Eastern Washington University (EWU) Master of Social Work (MSW) students: A narrowly focused program evaluation where it is feasible Reasonable program development to bring the program where program evaluation is feasible in the future Development/update of a program logic model Needs assessment

4 Gallery style presentation at the Community-Minded Enterprise TV Studio
Two presentations were filmed. Everyone had a chance to visit all of the programs. Approximately 40 people came. Final Presentations

7 Next Steps Dr. Frank Velasquez, a United Way Board Member to serve as the independent voice to the Board. Review Agency final reports & Student feedback. Community Impact Committee to debrief in January/February 2018. Community-Minded Enterprises to produce a video program about this pilot project.
