If you do not have a GED or HS diploma, the Guard can help!
If you don't have either a high school diploma or alternate education credentials* we can help! THE GUARD WILL HELP YOU EARN YOUR GED EVEN BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR BASIC TRAINING. With our GED Plus program, you’ll train for up to three weeks in a classroom environment at the Professional Education Center (PEC) at Camp Robinson, Arkansas. * Alternate Credentials include: GED, National Guard Youth Challenge, Correspondence Diploma, etc.

GED Plus Overview The Army National Guard will pay you to get your GED when you enlist. Through the use of professional educators, the Guard prepares individuals to take and pass the General Equivalency Diploma (GED) exam. You’ll be paid to earn your GED while you participate in field training that will prepare you for a career in the National Guard. At the end of your time there, you’ll take the exam and emerge with your GED in hand.

GED Plus Eligibility To be eligible, you must have a minimum AFQT score of 31 and a certified transcript showing completion of the ninth grade. You must also meet the following criteria: You must have withdrawn from high school for at least six months prior to your date of application for enlistment. No waivers are authorized. You must be 18 years old or older, or not be eligible to return to your local high school to complete your diploma program.

GED Plus Eligibility You must also meet the following criteria:
You must score a minimum of 31 on the AFQT. If you score 50 or higher on the ASVAB you may be eligible for other incentives and/or bonuses. Glossary Non-Prior Service (GNPS) applicants ARE eligible for this program.

GED Plus Eligibility If you enlist under the GED Plus Program you will not be able to participate in the Split Training Option (STO) and may not be shipped for Initial Entry Training (IET) until you complete the GED Plus Program. Anyone enlisting under the GED Plus Program who presents an accredited GED completion certificate or diploma prior to shipping will not be required to attend the ARNG GED Plus Training program.

Go To College We have several programs that help make going to college—and finishing your degree—possible. The Guard will pay up to 100 percent of your tuition, so you can spend less time worrying about money and more time studying. You may also be eligible for the Montgomery G.I. Bill or the Army National Guard Kicker to cover expenses. Speaker Notes:

Train for a Career When you join the Guard, you choose a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS). This MOS will give you the training you need to pursue virtually any career you choose, from infantry to communications, even health care.
