New validation process in place and Commissioners play important role in its implementation Provides formal means to improve units that are not Quality Units We are all responsible to ensure validity of BSA membership rolls Do not overstate membership nor number of units 11/15/ National Meeting

3 Validation Procedures (1)
Follow registration procedures to maintain BSA standards of membership Welcoming call to unit leader when a new unit is created Mail Registration Cards directly to unit leader Membership fees paid by council must be approved by Scout Executive with Board guidance 11/15/ National Meeting

4 Validation Procedures (2)
Conduct semiannual “unit health” reviews Watch for unusual or no changes in unit membership Ensure all youth participants are registered Key individuals (including District Key 3s) certify process Other administrative and documentation actions 11/15/ National Meeting

5 Unit Health Reviews Unit-serving Exec and Commissioner team evaluate every unit in district in January and July Assign rating of “Good”, “Fair” or “Poor” “Good” implies a Quality Unit Written action plans prepared for all “Fair” and “Poor” units detailing steps necessary to become Quality Unit Action plans monitored monthly 11/15/ National Meeting
