The Pella Approval Process Step one – Check the Special Order Box
Variance/Special Order Box There are two ways to choose a special unit. One is to choose the special order “yes” button in the configurator. The other is to choose special order unit when you start a new line item.

The Pella Approval Process Step two - Special Order Notes
This box will pop up once you finish and exit your line. This is where you tell us what you need quoted. Tips for better entry Be as descriptive as possible Pictures/drawings are helpful Make sure Contact Details are accurate so if we have questions we get the correct person! If this is a revision, please date it and explain what you revised. On replacements – include the original order number. Enter the correct size and information you require even if you get a warning.

The Pella Approval Process Step three – Selecting the Pella Approval Button
You quote will not submit to us until you select the Pella Approval Process at the top of the quote view on the ICON Bar. Once this is selected – a warning will pop up to tell you that your quote is entering engineering status and will be locked until approved.

The Pella Approval Process Step four – Reading and Understanding Approval Notes
Once we have completed your quote you will receive an stating it has finished the approval process. Open the line up to find your approval notes. Pay attention to what has been approved (notes), your product lead-time, the expiration date of your quote and whether it will receive an NFRC label or not. (If not – you will receive a disclaimer). Expiration Date Approval Notes Product Lead Time NFRC Disclaimer

Pella Approval Process Step five – Submitting for an Order
In most cases – once you receive your approval it is ready to order. There are a couple of exceptions to this rule. 1. Your quantities need to be broken down. We will tell you if you need to break quantities to manufacturing guidelines in your approval text. You will then have to change the quantity on the first line and copy it over to the number of lines needed to meet the total needed. After you do this, you will have to resubmit all lines so that we can approve each line again. 2. You have asked for an expedite and only need “an estimate” at this point. In this case we will give you the correct dollar amount but we will say estimate only and expire the quote. When you have all of your sizes, etc., figured out you will need to resubmit all lines for final approval If neither of these two things apply you should be able to order your quote just as you would any other non-variance quote.
