Bursaries The Bursary Reception is on June 4th at 7 pm. We will be giving out Group 1 bursaries (decided by Isfeld staff), Group 2 bursaries (decided by the donor organization) and Group 3 bursaries (directly applied for to the organization) Students getting bursaries will be invited to a pizza lunch in advance of this date to meet and discuss protocol for this event.

Honda test drive for charity
Thank you to Honda for stepping up to help us this year. 114 test drives this year at $10 to grad = $1140 from Honda Car wash raised $ Concession raised $332.90 Silent Auction raised $163.00 Donation to YANA (You Are Not Alone) to help sick kids and their families travel for medical care - $500.00 Donation to Canadian Landmine Association to pay for one week of clearing landmines in Cambodia - $ – in memory of Mark

Grads vs Special Olympic Athletes
Third year for this grad-itude event which took place Wed. May 9th Paired two grads and two Special Olympic Athletes on each team. 24 grads played a game at 2:00 pm and another 24 play at 3:00 pm. A $750 donation from Fashion Show profits was made to the Special Olympic Athletes from the grads. 3 Special Olympic Athletes left today for Nationals in Summerside, PEI.

Tailgate bbq this fri. May 14 – 11:45 to 1:05
School wide event for all grades to help fundraise for Relay by buying their lunch (hot dogs, smokies, etc), watching the Grad vs. Staff Road Hockey Challenge and having a lot of fun. This week the grades 8 to 11 are challenging each other looking for donations, the TA with the highest donation gets to shave off Mr. Storey’s beard and mustache after the game. We are looking for parent helpers to set up, sell and take down

Relay for Life – June 9 The most important event of the year, and the most anticipated by the grads. This is a community event, not a Grad event. Grads need to be respectful of what this event means to cancer survivors and those still battling the disease. We will also see alumni and staff teams.

Relay For Life in Comox Valley
Isfeld has 14 teams and 145 grads, parents and staff participating. Disney theme “Wish Upon a Cure” Fundraising is underway – bottle drives, bake sales, car washes, etc One of the parent teams is looking for team members to join. You don’t have to stay all night. $15 to join – gets you your t-shirt, etc. See Graham Magor or myself if you would like to join in the fun. We will be tie-dying 145 t-shirts on Wed. May 23rd starting at 2:00

The Commencement Ceremony is for Graduates
Students must be graduating to participate, and if they have not met grad requirements, they will be excluded. Students need to meet ministry prescribed curricular requirements, including grad transitions. See Lisa for tickets, extra tickets if available, special seating, etc. We will hand out 5 tickets (grad doesn’t need a ticket) once all items handed in.

Graduation Day – Wednesday, June 27th
Commencement Ceremony Prom and Dry Grad At Isfeld Organized and run by School Staff Attended by all teachers Begins with Car Cruise leaving Isfeld at 4:15 pm Parents often assist with setup and tear down. See detailed task list posted. NEW – Dry Grad Contract, signed by student and parent Must be received before receiving tickets Dry Grad is organized and run by about Grad Parents. School admin also attend. Ends at 3:15 am after a prize auction

GRADUATION DAY PLAN Wednesday, June 27, 2018
3:30 pm Car Cruise meets in Isfeld parking lot 4:15 pm Car Cruise leaves Isfeld 5:00 pm Car Cruise arrives back at Isfeld, grads to gym for group photo 5:30 pm Grads pick up their gowns and eat, doors open in Gym 6:00 pm Grads line-up in preparation for the Ceremony 6:30 pm Grad Ceremony begins in the gymnasium or outside (depending on the weather) 8:30 pm Reception in the wings (TA areas) 9:00 pm Grad Dance with parents starts Prom in gym 10:30 pm Grads board busses for Crown Isle Dinner, Hypnotist Show, Casino, Auction and more 3:15 am Pick up time at Crown Isle
