13 November, 2018 Shortages of medical products Support to National data collection (in tracer countries): collective investment in data capturing and sharing reporting. Building a Global advance reporting systems for medicines at high risk (in complement with manufacturers, wholesalers’ reports) including pricing data. Joint work to get better predictability of the demand (UN procurement plus major international buyers (IDA); procurement practices based on NEML. Proposing alternative substitute and regulatory options to address shortages of high risk products and sources of suppliers (including review when necessary of therapeutic guidelines when the medicine is missing for a long term period or discontinued). Promoting fast track registration procedures (information sharing) Ocytocin cold chain storage: stability studies have been protocoled and will be presented.

13 November, 2018 Inter-Agency Supply Chain Group (ISG) and Supply issues Decision to host ISG Secretariat taken in 2016 and communicated to IPC members. ISG will report periodically to IPC members’ progress on its support to countries while looking at expanding its group to other implementing partners and proposing strategic links to IPC. IPC advocacy to mobilize resources for supply chain management, a largely underfunded area. Review of the 15 KPI Indicators.

Inter-Agency Emergency Health Kit IEHK / PSM in Emergencies
Improving the website visibility of the Emergency kits. Update on the 2016 process: Solutions to shorten the transition period to produce new kits explored. New supplies included into kits are more expensive (PEP / Malaria) and a strategy for resource mobilization has to be proposed and supported by partners.

Access and affordability to Hep C Medicines
Necessity to push for more transparency for prices of antiviral. Building on ARV price reference system and experience (Global Price Reporting Mechanism GPRM hosted by AMDS). Looking at aggregation of the demand: pooled procurement mechanism (UNICEF / GDF)

Access to antivenoms WHO will explore supply / LMD of antivenoms and report on the PQ application process.

Inter-Agency list of medical devices
IPC members invited to join WHO efforts in the area of medical devices.

PSM Toolbox IPC members will send to WHO/AMDS the name of focal person of their organizations for the PSM Toolbox. WHO/AMDS will circulate a proposal for funding the activities to maintain and update the PSM Toolbox. WHO/AMDS will continue the review of the PSM Toolbox and look at the possibility to integrate or merge existing tools. Will introduce a “Used feedback” option to improve the rating mechanism of tools and facilitate the rationalization of the number of tools.

GFATM will provide an information point after few months use.

Inter-Agency statement on the public health value of PQ
IPC members committed to inform by February 15th, if they endorse the proposal shared during the IPC Meeting in Geneva in December 2015 and if they authorize the use of the Logo of their respective organizations. (WHO)

R&D Preparedness for future epidemics
Updated information for IPC Members on the R&D Blue print development and adoption in WHA 69th in 2016.

Local production A reflection of IPC members how to engage and what are the concrete public health benefits of this strategy is important, in order to avoid any upfront situation of conflict of interest.

Software for emergency situations (PSM)
WHO will follow up with PAHO opportunities to expand the SUMA use (Ebola / PIP). SUMA open use will be posted in PSM Toolbox.
