1 Trilogy veterans club volunteer program
“Military Veterans serving military veterans in need”

2 A Message from the luke afb liaison…
My name is Richard Brown and serve the Trilogy Veterans Club as the Coordinator to Luke AFB for obtaining, maintaining, and scheduling Airmen who choose to volunteer their valuable time in support of our country’s military veterans. I am a retired Airmen myself, having served in a variety of roles in the Air Force and retired as a Lt Col. Our missions are varied, but each mission has the same objective – helping our homeless veterans in the Phoenix area. Our motto really says it best, “Military Veterans serving Military Veterans in need.” This presentation will walk you through a wide range of topics that will cover how the program works, how you can volunteer, and even some exciting recognition programs we have to acknowledge your support.

3 A Brief look at the past….
It is important to note that Luke AFB Airmen have been volunteering in a significant way since The main focus of that volunteerism was in support of the Veterans Furniture Center (VFC). This was a viable program, which needed much help in getting furniture to once homeless veterans. However this year, they have been so successful, our club decided to move on and branch out into others areas that would benefit our veterans. We are so excited about some emerging missions, which presents some opportunities for you to be part of, in support of our veterans.

4 Missions of the Trilogy Veterans Club….
The Trilogy Veterans Club provides a "home cooked" meal to homeless veterans at the Veterans Outreach Center once a month, year-round. The Center is located in Phoenix. Each month, veterans club members prepare home-cooked meals to serve, on average, 40 to 50 homeless veterans. The veterans look forward to this meal and the club enjoys a 100% success rate. A different menu is prepared each month and club members cook the food. We envision your support in the area of serving these meals to the homeless veterans. For some veterans, this is the only hot meal that get during a week, so their gratitude and appreciation is so infectious, you will want to volunteer for this mission each month!

5 Missions of the Trilogy Veterans Club...
In Peoria, we support the Vietnam Memorial Trail, located near Trilogy at Vistancia. This .23 mile trail to the top of the hill is peppered with names and branches of service of fallen warriors that didn’t make it back from the war. Our mission here is keep the trail clean, change out the flag, when needed, and hold ceremonies at various times during the year to honor those that paid the ultimate price for our freedom. There is no higher honor in the military than to wear the uniform of your country in defense of her values. This is a sobering, but honorable mission you can be proud of.

6 Missions of The Trilogy Veterans Club...
We support the Adopt-A-Street Program, located outside of Trilogy at Vistancia. This 1-mile stretch of El Mirage Road starts at the corner of El Mirage and Vistancia Blvd (at the Valero gas station). Our mission here is keep our stretch of El Mirage clean, free of debris, and haul away trash. In 2018, we will expand our efforts, with your help, and include Vistancia Blvd in our clean-up efforts. It is important to remember that serving also means serving our community, and you would be part of the service to the local Vistancia community, which houses over 400 military veterans.

7 How you can Support…. There a number of other missions in the works for 2018; supporting two charity golf tournaments, Food drives, clothing drives, Toys for Tots, and Soldier's Best Friend. We are even in active coordination with the VA Hospital to support our military veterans getting to various appointments within the hospital. Be assured, we have a mission for you to support and volunteer. To get started, I coordinate with each Luke organization’s POC or you directly, once we get a mission to support. Your name will be provided to me and I will start working to get you as much information as I can about the mission and your job in that mission.

8 Benefits to you…. You’ve heard the saying, “Do more with less,” right? We know the Air Force asks a great deal of its Airmen in support of Fly, Fight, and Win. You also know, for promotion, leaders look for the “whole Airmen Concept.” In other words, you are doing great at your job, but what about education (college or PME), community involvement? That is where we can help! Serving your community by helping our homeless veterans is a powerful bullet in any awards and decorations package. We write Letters of Appreciation to your commander for each mission you volunteer for, and feedback from our Luke volunteers is that these letters matter! Being the best you can be includes community involvement. The next couple of slides explains our Rewards Program

2. Present a Certificate that we hand-carry to your Commander for presentation at a Commander’s Call or All-Call meeting.
