An interagency website that provides one stop shopping for incident information to internal and external audiences.website Primarily used for wildfires and prescribed fires, but can be used for other types of incidents. Sponsored by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) and available for use by federal, state and local wildfire agencies at no cost. InciWeb Past, Present and Future

3. A LITTLE HISTORY InciWeb was developed in 2003 by U.S. Forest Service Information Technology staff in California. InciWeb generates high levels of interest and high volumes of traffic, resulting in failures. Management of InciWeb transferred to U.S. Forest Service Washington Office Fire and Aviation Management Information Technology staff in 2009. Operation, maintenance, and continued development of InciWeb contracted to IBM in 2009. Interagency InciWeb Steering Committee established in 2010 to guide operations, maintenance, and continued development of the site. Reengineered InciWeb administrative site launched in 2013. 6. HOW CAN I GET PERMISSION TO USE INCIWEB? Designed to enable units (i.e. National Forests, BLM Districts, National Parks, State Forestry Divisions, etc.) to maintain long term control over incident information. Accounts must be established by units. PIOs and IMTs must request access to a units InciWeb account through a designated superuser. Unit accounts are established based on their NWCG identifier.
