One thing God wanted to make sure Moses and the people

Is that it is GOD who is fighting the battles!

4. Numbers 22:1
Then the sons of Israel journeyed, and camped in the plains of Moab beyond the Jordan opposite Jericho.

And then, we noted where they are…
They are on the East side of the Jordan river directly
across from Jericho…
They are finally getting ready to enter the Promised land!
This is the place where they will cross the Jordan river!
And, so the Canaanite people that they have already
conquered are part of the Canaanites that they are to
conquer and receive their land…
They have already begun to conquer the land Canaan!

2 Now Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites. 3 So Moab was in great fear because of the people…

Notice the word is spreading…
God is doing mighty things, and the word is getting out…
God is showing the world His power…
And as we will see later, the fame of the LORD has been
spreading ever since He did all the miracles and signs
in Egypt (Rahab and the spies)
It’s interesting, God is showing Himself as Holy among the
people of Israel, and…
Really, He is showing Himself as Holy all around the world!

19 …that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

And in all reality, God has revealed Himself to EVERY
human being…. through His creation…
And so, they are without excuse!
NO ONE can really say there is no God!
I think of doctors…
And think of astronomers…
Or think of micro biologists!
(Macrophages)
And think of electrical engineers…

10. Numbers 22:6
For I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.

And notice, that God has even been using Balaam to show
His power…
They don’t seem to recognize that it is the power of God…
But they do KNOW that when Balaam curses someone,
they are cursed…
And when he blesses someone, they are blessed!
And Balak is about to find out, that it is God!
And… The Moabites will see that it is God, not
Balaam

…Behold, I have come out as an adversary, because your way was contrary to me.

Think about it…
This “man of God” (A prophet), couldn’t see God!...
But…
This donkey did!
I wonder how many church leaders in the United States,
can’t see God!
And I say that, because I know many of them are not
regularly in the Word of God themselves, and they
are not proclaiming the Word of God!

I need to take that as a warning for myself!...
I need to be regularly in the Word myself!
And I need to be ONLY proclaiming GOD’S Words!

14. Numbers 22:34 & 35
34 Balaam said to the angel of the LORD, " I have sinned, for I did not know that you were standing in the way against me. Now then, if it is displeasing to you, I will turn back." 35 But the angel of the LORD said to Balaam, "Go with the men, but you shall speak only the word which I tell you." So Balaam went along with the leaders of Balak.

Can you hear in Balaam’s words a hint that he’s still
hoping to curse the people and get a big reward for it?
Well, In the next two chapters, we will see God’s words
through Balaam…
