3. What exists came into being out of nothing simply by God’s word.
God said; God called (Genesis 1:3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29).
“By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.” (Hebrews 11:3)

4. God spoke to the fathers. God spoke through His prophets.
“God, …spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,…” (Hebrews 1:1)
“… no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” (2 Peter 1:21)

God’s word is power not to be ignored or brushed aside by men.
Violation has severe consequences – Adam (Genesis 2:17; 3:19, 24; 5:5)
God shook the earth – Moses (Exodus 19:18-19; Hebrews 12:26).
“…indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant…” (Exodus 19:5, 7)

6. God spoke to the fathers. God spoke through His prophets.
Refusal to heed God’s word brought God’s wrath – Israelites (Zechariah 7:11-12; 8:14-15).

7. God speaks now through His Son.
“…in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world” (Hebrews 1:2)
“This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!” (Matthew 17:5)
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” (Matthew 28:18)

8. God speaks now through His Son.
Jesus is the Eternal Word (John 1:1, 14).
“The Word of God” will strike and rule nations with the sharp word of His mouth (Revelation 19:13, 14).

9. Fervent adherence is the right choice and response to the word of God.
Angels obeyed “the voice of His word” (Psalm 103:20).
Transgression was punished (Hebrews 2:2).
A graver offense is to neglect the gospel of salvation spoken by Christ (Hebrews 2:1, 3).
Pay much closer attention…
Do not drift away from it…

10. Fervent adherence is the right choice and response to the word of God.
Any different message should be rejected (Galatians 1:8, 9).
A believer who goes too far and does not abide in Christ’s teaching does not have fellowship with God (2 John 9).

11. Fervent adherence is the right choice and response to the word of God.
Eagerness to obey goes back to an understanding of the power of the One with all authority.
His word will judge (John 12:48).
His commandments must be obeyed (Matthew 28:20).
Scriptures are God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16).
The word of truth must be diligently applied (2 Timothy 2:15).
