One of the oldest providers of child support services in Finland
We are located in Turku and Uusikaupunki with housing for 70 children and 16 families
We have 170 employees.

5. History We have 95 years of experience in child support
The current name of the association has been in use since 1985

6. Arguments more alternatives before taking a child into care

8. Evaluation and rehabilitation periods

9. Why? Finnish law requires, When
The child's physical and mental development has been compromised several times

10. Challenges evaluation and rehabilitation is voluntary but forced…
to “sell” the idea to the parent vs. you have no choice
the customer can not be acute mental health (psychosis) or substance abuse problem (untreated)
customers can come to us, if they are in replacement therapy for drug problems or it`s possible to come after detoxification

16. Before the rehabilitation
Contact from the social worker responsible for the child’s welfare
Ideally family visits our unit and meets team leader / unit leader and special family workers, that would be working with them

17. Moving to Family Rehabilitation Unit
help with the move, if needed
the flat is always modified to the needs of family members
The flats are fully furnished, the family may bring toys, curtains, tableware…
Agreements are signed
