All Wales Safeguarding Procedures Review Project
Newsletter April 2018

Project update What do you need to do? Draft Procedures:
The INTRODUCTION and CHAPTER 1 has been developed. It is currently with the wider project team who will submit their feedback. This first section of the procedures will then be uploaded onto the All Wales Academy site for everyone to access. You should receive notification of the draft available in the first week of May 2018. You will then have 4-6 weeks in which to provide your feedback to the project team via the All Wales Academy site When you receive the notification, access your account on the All Wales Academy and read through the draft procedures (INTRODUCTION and CHAPTER 1). Click on ‘your feedback’ and answer the questions. Each region may choose to coordinate this process. For example, Regional Safeguarding Boards may wish to invite feedback at their regional safeguarding board meetings and then submit feedback on behalf of groups or organisations. The notification will provide a timescale in which all feedback must be submitted. Only feedback received within this timescale and via the All Wales Academy will be included in the analysis to inform further changes.

As a region, you may wish to record your feedback as an individual, or you may wish to coordinate your submission by collating feedback from groups or organisations and submitting on behalf of that group or organisation. Either is acceptable. The only condition we apply to receiving feedback is that all feedback must be submitted via the All Wales Academy. This is so we can ensure a consistency in the format of the feedback and that we can ensure feedback is focussed on the work in hand To help you plan your meetings We have put together a schedule to show when each draft section of the procedures will be ready for review. This will help you plan your time and meeting dates to accommodate engagement with colleagues and partners.
