A Compound Sentence is a sentence that joins two simple sentences together with a comma, conjunction.

3. Simple Sentence =
Johnny hit the ball.

4. Compound Sentence =
Johnny hit the ball and made a homerun.

5. Fixing Choppy Sentences
Ex) The cat was happy.
Ex) He slept underneath the bed.
Compound= The cat was happy and he slept underneath the bed.

6. Combining Clauses
We combine simple sentences to make a compound sentence by adding conjuctions.
