Technology Can Be Expensive For each dollar spent on direct costs (for hardware and software), another dollar or two is spent on indirect costs (such as training). Recently a Missouri district of 450 students estimated a total district cost of $219,000. A Virginia suburban school with 166,000 students estimated $233,060,000.
