The mission of Weslaco ISD’s T-STEM Early College High School is to cultivate interest in STEM careers and prepare students through rigorous, engaging and innovative instruction. Vision: Our vision at Weslaco ISD’s T-STEM Early College High School is to increase the number of professionals in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the Rio Grande Valley.

Associate of Science degree with a  field of study in Biology offers students the opportunity to take core curriculum of general education with an emphasis in Biology. Many exciting career opportunities are available in the biological sciences. Students should bear in mind that many of the career areas listed require training beyond an Associate of Science degree and some will require a post-graduate degree. This program prepares students to provide technical assistance in business, engineering science, medicine and many other fields such as: Actuary Consultant Operations Researcher Statistician Teacher

13 ENGINEERING PROGRAM 60 CREDIT HOURS
Associate of Science degree with a  field of study in Engineering offers students the opportunity to take core curriculum of general education with an emphasis in Engineering. A high percentage of all the technical and managerial positions in industry are occupied by engineers. This program prepares students for transfer to a four-year institution where they can specialize in all engineering disciplines such as : Aerospace         Computer    Mechanical Agriculture        Electrical        Nuclear Bioengineering        Environmental    Petroleum Chemical             Industrial        Radiological Health Civil            Manufacturing

14 COMPUTER SCIENCE PROGRAM 60 CREDIT HOURS
Associate of Science degree with a  field of study in Computer Science is designed for students who plan to pursue a Baccalaureate degree at STC or transfer to a four-year university to pursue a Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science or Computer Software Engineering. It is also designed to prepare students for entry level positions in the field of computer science. Career opportunities may include:     Computer Programmer     Programmer Analyst     Software Engineers     Computer and Information Scientist     Computer Hardware Engineers     Information Security Analysts

15 INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES 60 CREDIT HOURS
The Associate of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies provides students with a broad based education in “college basics” that promotes critical thinking skills and allows an opportunity to make an informed choice in educational preferences. Field of Study Hours 18-(Must be chose from two or more Associate of Arts or Associate of Science field of study options ) STC Core Curriculum 42 Hours

16 CERTIFICATE IN MEDICAL ASSISTANT TECHNOLOGY 39 CREDIT HOURS
Medical assistants are multi-skilled health care professionals with a strong background in basic patient care and assessment. Job duties may include: medical and laboratory procedures (including performing routine blood and urine analysis) appropriate emergency medical care procedures medical office administrative procedures such as managing medical records, medical transcription, and medical insurance billing.
