Your child should be able to read & recognize these words in text.* Upcoming Quizzes/Tests The Bug fluency assessment on Thurs. & Fri. 12/21 & 12/22 Gravity & Stars Test on Friday 12/22 (Topics that will be tested are on the “What are we learning this week” section) Homework Reminders: *This will be the final Addition Drill that is 5 minutes long. The next addition drill will need to be completed in 4 minutes. ** Please use this to study for Friday’s Test. Please turn in when completed, preferably by Friday! This packet will be due on Monday, January 8th – please review before we return to school so that students are prepared to continue with these same concepts. Vocabulary Reading: collapsed, furious, materials, refused, shelter Science: star, sun, constellation, magnify, telescope, hand lens, observe, gravity, energy, light, heat Math: related facts A.K.A fact families Social Studies: Winter Holidays, traditions What We’re Learning This Week Science: What can you see in the daytime and nighttime sky, telescopes are used for observing things in the sky, stars are unevenly spaced & too many to count, gravity Math: Chapter 5 – Addition & Subtraction Relationships Reading: Unit 2 Week 2 - Character, Settings & Events about: “Buildings all around”, key details from the illustrations, make & confirm predictions, Language Arts: Unit 2 Week 2 – Nouns (singular & plural ex: cat, cats), contractions (ex: it is = it’s) Writing: Using key words: first, then, next, last to write a fantasy story about building something like in 3 little pigs: a fantasy story about the characters building their homes. Social Studies: Winter/National Holidays: Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and family traditions. Upcoming Events School will resume on January 8th, Enjoy the Winter Break!
