Session aims To allow participants to communicate and evaluate findings from summative assessment tasks To provide advice and guidance on progression from the course

Outcomes By the end of the session participants will have:
Presented and discussed the findings from one of their summative assessment tasks and received feedback Discussed and evaluated the summative assessment presentations of peers Considered options for progression to specialist teacher training programmes Reflected on and evaluated the Level 3 English programme

Reflections on learning
Spend 5-10 minutes reflecting individually on what you have learnt about: your personal English skills your knowledge and understanding of language use in a range of contexts the effective teaching and learning of English / literacy and language what you will remember and what has impacted on your professional practice

Specialist English teacher training
All teachers of English (literacy and language) need to be trained for the full teaching role. Routes to qualification include: For those who don’t hold a DTLLS or equivalent Fully integrated diploma route: 120 credits / 360 GLH / 150 teaching hours Partly integrated diploma route: 120 credits / 360 GLH / teaching hours For those who hold a DTLLS or equivalent Stand-alone diploma route: 45 credits / 120 GLH / 75 teaching hours Previously known as additional diplomas, these diplomas are now called Level 5 Diploma in teaching English (literacy and ESOL)
