The sun is just a star, just like those we see twinkling at night!

The Sun is 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
The surface of the sun is blazing hot, this heat warms our Earth!

Some are hydrogen, helium, oxygen, and carbon!
The sun is made of hot gases, containing many of the same materials we find here on Earth. Some are hydrogen, helium, oxygen, and carbon!

Weather begins with the sun.
The temperature, moisture, and the amount of wind all depends on the sun

The sun heats up the air in the atmosphere.
The air becomes warmer.

When the sun’s rays are straight down, it is warm
When the sun’s rays are straight down, it is warm. When the sun’s rays are slanted, it is cooler.

Warm air rises and cold air takes it’s place. This makes wind

The sun is the most important and powerful thing in the solar system!
