Visual Management Label, Label, Label Church Kitchen Home Freezer
Key is BIG, BRITE LABELS ! Remember the ol’ commercial: It sez Libby’s, Libby’s Libby’s on the _______ , _______ , _______ .
3
Visual Management This is typical for a family… a little visual system that can change easily with paper towel and dry erase markers.
4
Standardized Work BUT … if you call it standard “WORK”, well now you should pay … This is a very innovative way to teach kids value of money. (I’d put $5 on the dusting one, I HATE TO DUST!!)
5
‘Kaizen Kalendar’ Back to that “planning” idea from earlier… future trips/ travel and adventure!
6
VISUAL DISPLAY: Calendars - reminders Daily, Weekly Yearly, Monthly
We do a calendar plan Jan 1st. It is focused on the year and month… We map out upcoming vacations, family get togethers, special events, and family traditions (although technically not “Kaizen” events…). Fill in what you know, when you know it – always looking ahead. The white board focus is usually for the week and the day. Much like an accountability board at work. Both are vehicles of communication. Yearly, Monthly

Layout This one applies to grocery shopping. Stick to foods that are lean and skip the aisles in between!
8
Layout Items listed by aisle #
Now, speaking of that … the first Wednesday of the month, Krogers’ gives 10% discounts to seniors in Phoenix. This is when (and where) we buy are “pantry” (Kanban) items. I made a listing by aisle… I know – it is a little sick. But !! I hate wandering up and down the grocery aisles.

Everything is a process – stay away from those junk food aisles
Everything is a process – stay away from those junk food aisles. I know better – eat more vegetables and less red meat. At least they made look all “purdy” ! Now put down those fritos, Jaybird !
10
This hung on my fridge for a year – and, what a nice control chart it is. I am proud to lose that 23 pounds and I have reduced the variability also. I have a little ways to go yet in “PHASE II” – 189 to 175 (the goal) and am working on it… like most continuing improvements – it gets harder for the next round… YEAR 3 and YEAR 4 …
11
…Back to the tools! Here’s a lean thought… skip the fish oil and go right for the fish! - NOW, BACK TO THE TOOLS, THANX TIM TAYLOR!
12
After I watch Home Improvement – I always thought this was Tim …
