Science – Animals including Humans TASC: Design a zig- zag book: When I was young… Identify and name a variety of common animals that are carnivores, herbivores and omnivores Describe and compare the structure of a variety of common animals (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals, including pets) Identify, name, draw and label the basic parts of the human body and say which part of the body is associated with each sense. Mathematics: Number & place value–numbers to 10 (2 weeks) Calculations–addition & subtraction (5 weeks) English: Oliver’s Vegetables-Captions (2 weeks) Stone Soup & How to Make a Salad!”-Instructions (2 weeks) Enormous Watermelon– stories with a predictable pattern (2 weeks) Music: use their voices expressively and creatively by singing songs and speaking chants and rhymes play tuned and untuned instruments musically listen with concentration and understanding to a range of high-quality live and recorded music experiment with, create, select and combine sounds using the interrelated dimensions of music Plan Bee – Fruit & Veg DT: Salad Time TASC: To make a healthy *fruit* salad Design: design purposeful, functional, appealing products for themselves and other users based on design criteria *generate, develop, model and communicate their ideas through talking, drawing, templates, mock-ups and, where appropriate, information and communication technology Make: select from and use a range of tools and equipment to perform practical tasks [for example, cutting, shaping, joining and finishing] *select from and use a wide range of materials and components, including construction materials, textiles and ingredients, according to their characteristics Evaluate: explore and evaluate a range of existing products *evaluate their ideas and products against design criteria “Food Glorious Food!” 2017 6 weeks 4 days Geography: Food from Around the World – Lost & Found book 1-identify where foods come from 2-recognise UK on a map & discuss foods produced in Britain 3-recognise Europe & make salad (instructions) 4-recognise North & South America – internet research 5-recognise Africa–no food vs food that fills up 6-recognise Antartic-make sledge 7-recognise Aus & Asia-where foods come from across 7 continents TASC: To Create a world food map name and locate the world’s 7 continents and 5 oceans name, locate and identify characteristics of the 4 countries and capital cities of the United Kingdom and its surrounding seas identify seasonal and daily weather patterns in the United Kingdom and the location of hot and cold areas of the world in relation to the Equator and the North and South Poles . Identify how a countries climate affects the food it produces. Trip – Pizza Express – Italian food linked to Geog – piece of writing (recount) RE- Who is a Christian and what do they believe? PE- Dance – Firework Dance, moving to poetry written. Gym – To Practise basic movements (roll, jump, take weight on hands, travel close to the floor!) Outdoor games: To consolidate basic principles. SMSC/ PSHE Meet the Go Givers Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, Nobody Computing-E Safety Use technology safely and respectfully, keeping personal information private; Know where to go for help and support when they have concerns about material on the internet.
