3. LOSS
The lingering sense of Genesis 3 is one of overwhelming, crushing, devastating LOSS.

Ex. 20 no steps to lead to the altar of God lest nakedness be seen
Leviticus 18 and 20 degrees of “nakedness” and sin associated with it

(Isa 47:3 NKJV) Your nakedness shall be uncovered, Yes, your shame will be seen; I will take vengeance, And I will not arbitrate with a man.“

A figure of our spiritual nakedness and need to be clothed by God in Christ.
(Heb 4:13 NKJV) And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
Replaced with guilt
Did not want to face God –
Eze 36:31 Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations.
Joh 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

6. LOSS of Peace Loss of Peace Blaming each other
Woman to worry and be in pain in childbirth
Woman to be in subjection to man (not happy about it)
Loss of easy living
Stress of making a living causes strife
To this day our peace is destroyed because of sin

7. LOSS
Loss of Life - (Rom 5:12 NKJV) Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned;
Spiritual – Separation from God
Physical – Body without the spirit – observable every day
(1 Cor 15:21-22 NKJV) For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. {22} For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.

Not to last forever:
(Heb 8:7 NKJV) For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.
Intended to teach about sins:
(Rom 7:7 NKJV) What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, "You shall not covet."
To bring us to Christ:
(Gal 3:24 NKJV) Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Taken away at the cross of Christ:
(Col 2:14 NKJV) having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
(Eph 2:14-16 NKJV) For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, {15} having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, {16} and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
