Welcome BiTS Authors Congratulations on the acceptance of your abstract! Welcome on behalf of the BiTS Technical Program Committee. The following guide is intended to make the process of creating a conference ready paper as painless as possible. Page Numbers and Presentation Title Required in footer of all but The Main Title Page (to update the template, InsertHeader and Footer, slide tab: edit the title, then apply all) Avoid Slide Transitions and Animations Including Audio Transitions (useful and allowed only in appropriate situations….I.E. overlays) Run Spell Check Must Print OK in Black and White – a Proceedings requirement (to check ….ViewGrayscale and ViewBlack & White….look for missing lines, arrows, text, figures, etc.) Minimize File Size – compress your pictures – JPEG or PNG preferred (click on your picture; Picture Tools Compress Pictures) Uncheck apply only to this picture (to apply to all pictures) Check delete cropped areas of pictures Check use document resolution Your Paper Title Here: BiTS Presentation Guide & Template 1.0

Session Title Goes Here Author’s Presentation Checklist (3) Maintain Consistency Slide to Slide in both Title Placement and Font (to check, flip through your slide deck as a slide show…….placement of elements should not ‘jump around’) Use Charts, Graphs and Pictures to summarize complex points/data Use Simple and Succinct Wording - Use Bullets – Key Points Only (talk to the detail – avoid lengthy wording) Graph Components Must Be Highly Viewable Trend Lines/Series must be bold and bright Axis Fonts must be readable (20 pt target)….if not needed, do not include Use Trend Lines/Series markers so they can be distinguished in B&W Paper Contributions/Acknowledgements should be made on the last page to acknowledge previous BiTS & other conference papers/presentations Avoid general Thank-You’s, Endorsements and ‘Any Questions?’ slides Avoid Sales Pitches Avoid Borders – These Take Up Valuable Page Space Avoid any Contact Information Your Paper Title Here: BiTS Presentation Guide & Template 1.0

Session Title Goes Here Presentation Mechanics (1) (Brief Speaker’s Guide) What to expect as a presenter during your session Authors in the current session sit at the front of the room to facilitate speaker transitions Your session coordinator will assist you with the wireless lapel microphone The moderator will introduce you (using a short bio that you provide) You will control slide advancement with a wireless remote device A pointing device will be provided (use it sparingly!)
