What is in it for them (we need to include this in our presentation)? How well will they be able to take the information I will be giving? What might they expect me to say? What might be their existing mindset (their attitudes and beliefs) about the subject on which I am going to present? WHY Why am I going to give this presentation – what do I want to achieve? What is it’s purpose, e.g. to persuade, amuse, make a decision, entertain or to get them to take action, etc? What do you want the audience to think, feel or do as a result of seeing me speak? What will I accept as evidence that it will be successful? WHAT The audience are unlikely to be able to absorb more than three or four key points, even if they are really interested or intelligent.
