AIDA Mezzanine board Contacts for underside connectors The FARO Laser Tracker is a portable, high accuracy, 3 dimensional coordinate measurement device, which has a measurement range of up to 35m. The tracker emits a red laser that is reflected by an SMR (spherically mounted retroreflector). The tracker determines the co-ordinates of the target by measuring two angles and a distance. Angles are measured by encoders, distances are measured by interferometer or phase shift depending on tracker mode (can be manually selected). Spatial Analyzer software was selected on the basis that it is the only metrology software that: Allows users to simulate errors before doing surveys Allows the errors of different instrument types to be combined – (most packages are designed for a specific instrument, SA can use both Leica and Faro trackers together) Allows for automation of repetitive surveying processes – (Allows for an element of programming which helps ensure that same procedure is followed each time) Thermal contact pads 1
