Active and Passive Sentences be + pp Subject/agent Object Mike’s cat attacked him. The zombies are eating my pizza. I have tested all my students. James made a mistake. The students will drink a lot of Soju. Subject/done to by +agent Mike was attacked (by….). My pizza is being eaten. All my students have been tested. A mistake was made. A lot of Soju will be drunk. We use passive verbs for a reason. For example: i. the agent/doer is obvious, unknown, or it’s unnecessary to mention ii. speaker/writer doesn’t want to mention the doer

Passive Yes/No questions be + pp Mike was attacked (by….). My pizza is being eaten. All my students have been tested. A mistake was made. A lot of Soju will be drunk. Was Mike attacked (by….)? Is my pizza being eaten? Have all my students been tested? Was a mistake made? Will a lot of Soju be drunk?

Why is my pizza being eaten? How many times have my students been tested? Why was a mistake made? For what reason will a lot of Soju be drunk?
