European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA)
Represents more than 350 zoos and aquaria across Europe in almost every EU member-state EAZA is referenced in the EU Zoo Directive and has strict Codes and Standards Membership is through a screening system both for new and current members European Code of Conduct on Zoological Gardens and Aquaria and Invasive Alien Species (2012), with Council of Europe and IUCN ISSG ISSG Invasive Species Specialist Group

Area 1. Awareness Raising
140 million people visit our members annually Our member have varied opportunities to educate about IAS (flora and fauna) What are IAS , which species are threatened by them, what visitors can do to reduce IAS Gaia Zoo, NL, ring necked parakeet aviary highlighting dangers of IAS next to native species aviary Bristol, UK, crayfish breeding, release and public awareness campaigns Zagreb, Croatia, slider exhibit highlighting not to release to wild.

Pest eradication and restoration of damaged ecosystems Breeding programmes for native species Reintroduction Beauval, France, bullfrog cooperation and eradication project Knowsley Safari Park, UK, squirrel monitoring project Welsh Mountain Zoo, UK, Red and grey squirrel management project
