2. What is a rain forest?
A Rain Forest is a type of jungle that has different kinds of animals like jaguars, spider monkeys, and parrots. At the rain forest there are plants like a Kapok Tree, Rafflesia, Bromeliad, and Rosy Periwinkle.

3. Location of Rain Forests
The rain forests are located around the equator. They are in Africa, Asia, Australia, South America, and North America.

4. Emergent Layer
The emergent layer is the top of the rain forest where animals like parrots, toucans, dragonflies, bats, and harpy eagles fly around trees and look for food.

5. Canopy Layer
The canopy layer has different kinds of animals like jaguars, sloths, iguanas, butterflies, snakes, ocelots, reptiles, and porcupines.This layer is the tops of the trees.

6. Understory Layer
The understory layer is the middle of the rain forest where red eye tree frogs, grass hoppers, chameleon, poison frogs, and butterflies walk and fly around branches.

7. Forest Floor
The forest floor is the bottom of the rain forest. Animals like ant eaters, crocodiles, tapers, and river dolphins live on the the forest floor. Many different kinds of plants like Rafflesias , Kapok Trees, and fruits.

8. Deforestation
Deforestation is the destruction of the rain forest. What causes it is cattle grazing, mining, logging, and the building of cities and towns.

9. People of the Rain Forest
People that live in the rain forest lived there for millions of years .People that live in the rain forest still live there today. Families in the rain forest eat berries, mangos, and bananas.

10. Don’t destroy the rain forest and help save the animals!
