Energy Resources The lithosphere contains natural resources we can use to create energy. The resource turns a turbine and generates electricity. Fossil fuels (oil, coal and natural gas) Non-renewable, releases greenhouse gases Uranium Non-renewable, does not release greenhouse gases, nuclear waste Geothermal Renewable, does not release greenhouse gases, limited in location

Tides High Tide = Water high
The water on Earth closest to the Moon are gravitationally attracted and swell (rise) The water on the opposite side also swell due to inertia Low Tide = Water low Occurs on the sides that are not facing or opposite the Moon Tidal range = difference between water level at high and low tide

Tides There are two high tides and two low tides in a day
Spring tide = combined tides when Moon and Sun are aligned
