Today I’d like to give you a quick overview of the federal SBIR program and the services offered by our initiative of CCAT -- The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology. The money a company receives for an SBIR award is for proving feasibility of an idea – doing early tests – and for doing more extensive research and building a working prototype. No SBIR money is awarded for the patent process, marketing or manufacturing.
