Day treatment occurs Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Program overview Osprey Place is a three to six month treatment program designed to assist young women in the Youth Justice system experiencing issues related to substance use. Day treatment occurs Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Phoenix Centre The Kamloops Society for Alcohol and Drug Services (Phoenix Centre) provides a 20 bed in-patient detox facility, counselling to youth, families, and the community, as well as a supported transitional living program to Kamloops and the surrounding area. Osprey is an off site program designed to facilitate a home-like setting.

Our care homes are provided by the Elizabeth Fry Society
Care home model Clients are able to benefit from a care home model, living with well- trained families that offer safe and respectful accommodation in a supportive environment. Our care homes are provided by the Elizabeth Fry Society

Our model Osprey Place recognizes that substance use is symptomatic of many other aspects of a young person’s life. Our approach is trauma- informed and addresses the bio-psycho-social aspects of the individual within a group treatment plan.

schedule The Osprey Program prides itself on offering a diverse schedule that incorporates recreational, educational, and therapeutic opportunities, such as: Yoga Therapeutic Riding Art Indoor/Outdoor Activities School NA/AA meetings Guitar lessons Volunteering

counselling Counselling is done in a client centered manner utilizing current treatment modalities. We provide individual and group counselling facilitated on site by trained counsellors. Kamloops Sexual Assault Centre Counselling and Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services are available when needed.

REFERALS Referrals are accepted from Youth Probation Officers.
It is required that the youth’s probation order has a condition to attend a full time attendance program. The screening committee consists of the Probation Officer liaison, an Osprey representative (counsellor/ supervisor), an Elizabeth Fry care home liaison, and occasionally a representative from YFPS Kamloops
