1 Sales Training for April 17’
Selling the breakfast package and rules to follow

2 Breakfast Coupons All front desk associates should know where the coupons are. It is very important that this entire process is done correctly. That way, it will be simple and smooth for the guest. That is our main concern and of course, the guest will appreciate a non hassle check-in process. First thing first. There is a rate code set up in Opera for the breakfast package. The rate code is BKFST1. As the front desk agent, it is your job to put the correct number of guest “buying” the package where it says “number of adults” in room. The price will increase if the number of adults in room increases. If there are two people buying the breakfast package, put two adults, and give two coupons. One coupon per guest in room.

3 What to write on the Coupons
On the back of the coupons, fill out the expiration date. The expiration date is the day they check out. Each guest purchasing the “breakfast package” or “number of adults” in the room, get a coupon. One coupon per guest. If they are staying multiple nights, the guest gets one coupon per night. Each morning, they take the coupon to the restaurant and turn it in. (three nights= three coupons per guest) All have the same expiration date. Please make sure that you are doing this correctly! If you have any questions, ask someone. It can be a little confusing at first but it will get easier. All new things are difficult in the beginning, but I have no doubt you all can learn this quickly. We have sold a good amount already and had no major issues, so good job!

4 Log Book Pam has a log book for the front desk to keep up with when they sell the breakfast package. That should be very easy for everyone to fill out. She will get with me every week and we will go over what has been sold and make sure that the log book is being kept up with correctly. If you have any questions, please ask Pam.

5 Things to say when selling the breakfast package.
If the guest is wondering why we no longer offer a “free” breakfast, you can tell them this- Sir, or Mam, we no longer offer a “free” breakfast because we are trying to provide you with the best breakfast in town. No something served from a microwave. Kelley Wyatt’s is a family favorite restaurant and has been in business for over 50 years. They have the best buffet breakfast in town. Everything is hot, fresh, cooked from scratch, and made every morning. Its truly one of a kind and no other hotel will be able to offer you that. All hotels charge for breakfast. They just don’t tell you that. You pay for breakfast in your room rate. Here, we are charging for breakfast in your room rate as well, only it’s the best that Batesville has to offer. And, its not that much more. Its not cereal, microwavable biscuits, luke warm juices, etc. Tell them what Kelley's has to offer and use descriptive words to make them picture what they are getting! If you were too describe something you wanted REALLY bad to your spouse or friend, what words would you say? How would you say them? Think of things like that and say that to the guest.

6 Closing Remarks Again, if you have questions, please ask someone. This will be a great thing for the hotel and I am excited to see where it takes our revenue. We have a big revenue goal for this month but I know we can hit it. You are doing a good job. Hang in there with the changes. It will get easier. If you ever need anything, I am always here. Come and talk to me and bring me your ideas. We will be starting more of these packages soon and would like to hear from you what else we can do! Love to you all.
