4 Attitude A settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person's behavior. A position of the body proper to or implying an action or mental state. Truculent or uncooperative behavior; a resentful or antagonistic manner.

5 Attitudes in action-Positive Communications
This is one of the biggest influencers in the workplace. As a leader our influence will carry great weight. If we choose to congratulate and encourage or to order and criticize, our choice will clearly set the tone of your leadership. Get from the day.....or through the day?

6 Attitudes in action-Gratitude
A leader who takes the time to acknowledge the hard work of their staff is going to build a strong, trust based team. On the other hand, those leaders who bark orders with little appreciation of the contribution anyone else makes is not going to earn trust or respect.

7 Attitudes in action-Unite the team
While it’s good to be vulnerable and to let your team know that you are a person, it’s also important to see the vulnerabilities of others and to unite your staff. When there is gossip or dissent taking place, a strong leader will let everyone know there is no place for gossip or petty conflict. A positive workplace is one where every team member feels valued and respected.

8 Attitude in Action-Empower and develop others
Successful leaders are quick to share their knowledge and do what they can to empower others. They want to grow the leadership and professional skills in members of their team.

9 Attitude in Action-Take Responsibility
A clear tell-tale sign of a good leader is one who steps up and accepts responsibility each and every time. There is nothing worse than a leader who will step aside and let one of their team members take the blame for an unfortunate situation or outcome. “A good leader takes a little more than his share of the blame, a little less than his share of the credit.” – Arnold H. Glasow

10 Attitude in Action-Show Empathy
A successful leader has a high level of emotional intelligence. They have an understanding of where the other person is coming from, even if they don’t agree with them. Showing empathy to staff members will contribute significantly to positive workplace culture and job satisfaction. We all want to feel understood, a strong leader knows that and makes sure it happens. Like many other skills, good leadership attitude is something we can all develop if we work on those required skills. If you want to be a successful leader you can make it happen.

11 Why employees leave their Organization......
Relationship with our Boss Unchallenged by the work itself Relationship with co-workers Opportunities to use our skills and abilities Contributions of our work to the organizations business goals job

12 Why employees leave their Organization......
Autonomy and independence within our job. Meaningfulness of our job. Knowledge of our organizations future and how we can fit in. Corporate Culture Management recognition of Employee job performance. job

13 The Other reason employees leave their Organization......
Culture: Peter Drucker’s famous quote, “Organizational culture eats strategy for breakfast.” While many leaders agree and have directly experienced this phenomenon, very few organizations intentionally address their culture. Your organizational culture is about the agreements your team has, either intentionally or organically, made with each other over time. These simple agreements become entrenched across the organization and either allow or inhibit the team to be successful in their day-to-day work.

14 Thank you for joining us today.....
