Case 1 67 y.o. Caucasian male History of hyperlipidemia Presented with intermittent pain and numbness under his right arm after doing house work. No history of injury Symptoms not related to any position or activity

Patient was being seen in OMM for thoracic pain for 3 months
Patient advised to do stretches and continue to observe for worsening of symptoms. Exam showed tightness of the right pectoral and latisimus muscles with mild decreased ROM to flexion of the right shoulder

2 weeks later Patient emails having unusual sensations in his knees
Feeling of knots in his muscles Trouble with balance Concerned about statin side effect Advised that it’s unlikely to be caused by the statins and to go ahead and stop the statin anyway and if symptoms don’t improve to let me know.

1 week later Symptoms are worse Schedule Office consult
Numbness in his lower abdomen and groin Schedule Office consult Weakness of his lower extremities Difficulty with balance Decreased sensation of the lower abdomen and groin Had brisk lower extremity reflexes

Referred to Neurology Case discussed with NorthBay Neurologist
Emeer Almullahassani, MD Recommended STAT spine MRI Patient sent to Emergency Room

Result… Tumor found on T3
Referred to Neurology, Oncology and Neurosurgery
