6 General (Online Connection)
Database be.as be.as APS Production planning is always implemented directly from the production data. This means that current data is always available for calculation. A copy of the data is never created for planning. in the graphical view too, the calculation is always performed from the original data. Each change therefore always directly affects production. APS Factory calendar Basis for resource scheduling Production order Define work orders and delivery dates Calculation types Forward, backward, etc Resources Enter capacities in master data The correct settings for a wide range of parameters is the basis for correct use of APS. These include: Resources : Enter capacities in master data Factory calendar: Basis for resource scheduling and calculation of attendance Work orders: Define work orders and delivery dates (Training unit 10) Calculation types: the following calculation types are available Backward simulation: determines the latest possible start date without consideration of time reservations and material availability Backward scheduling: optimized for material, scheduling to the latest possible date with consideration of time reservations Forward scheduling: resource optimized, time reservations are considered. Standard method for rough and detailed planning. Re-allocate forward: resource optimized from start date. If delivery date cannot be met, resources are overloaded stepwise, until the delivery date can be met Catch up: For planned orders, which have not startet yet. Operations are moved and compressed. 8 General (Activating the APS License)
In order to activate APS, a computer license must be assigned. Otherwise, you wont be able to access certain settings. In order to assign a license, open the following menu option: Administration – License – License administration (be.as) You can assign the license via the icon next to the APS license. Use the New button to add a new user/computer. 11/13/2018

9 General Scheduling: Backward
Backward- calculation is optimized for material requirement backwards from date of delivery, start date as late as possible. 2 order related sub-assemblies. Subassemblies are finished, when „Assembly 1“ starts. At backward scheduling the calculation is optimized for material requirement: backwards from date of delivery, start date as late as possible. „Assembly 1“ can be produced only, after all sub-assemblies have been finished. last operations of the sub-assemblies are linked to the first operation of „Assembly 1“. Work order with 2 order related sub-assemblies The superordinated „Assembly 1“ can be produced only, after all sub-assemblies have been finished. You can see, that the last operations of the sub-assemblies are linked to the first operation of „Assembly 1“. If the work order is scheduled with assignment of assemblies to routing positions, a further optimization is possible. 12 Work with APS Standard: planning based on work orders
Start APS: three planning areas are available: Optimization: resource optimized planning Standard: planning based on work orders Resource: plannign based on resources Use the buttons below to create a new scheduling, (New) or to edit an existing one (Edit) or to open the selected one (View). Examples: Planning for resource-critical machines (eg. laser machine)    Planning view only for the next 5 days and only for one resource group „laser machine“ Order related planning for an assembly line (ressource groupe x) Project oriented planning for project X Planning with reference to employee: In the resource the responsible officer is deposited. Only work orders are considered, which have resources, managed by this employee. Planning on company level: to catch up backorders Planning for special machines with nesting     eg punching machine, nested raw material and thickness     eg chemical industry: nested chemical configuration Standard: planning based on work orders Resource: planning based on resources Examples: Planning for resource-critical machines (eg. laser machine) Planning view only for the next 5 days and only for one resource group „laser machine“

17 Work with APS (Sorting in the planning view)
If the planning view is opened, the production list is pre-sorted according to the settings. If manual sorting is enabled, you can use drag and drop: 1. Pre-sort via right click on column header – sort by column xyz. 2. Left click on document number and keep mouse button pressed. Move the selected entry. If a work order was moved, the sorting is saved (activate "manual sorting" in planning settings) Pre-sort via right click on column header – sort by column xyz. 18 Working with APS (Graphical View – PO – Description)
Header Gantt Display The detail view is divided into the header and the work order view area. 1: Menu header In the upper area, the menu is always displayed. The menu depends on the selected area. Depending on what precisely is selected, further tabs appear or are hidden. 2: PO list / resource list In the bar, all WOs/resources that were selected in the planning view are displayed. In the list, WOs/resources can be individually expanded. In the View tab, you can expand or minimize the whole list. 3: Time scale The time scale displays the set time period in the set time unit. Using the View tab, the time scale can be customized. 4: Gantt display In the Gantt display, a work order is displayed in the graphical view from left to right. The work order includes a totals bar, each individual assembly in turn has its own bar, individual maintenance sequences are connected with an arrow and represent the processing sequence in the time chart. Lastly, the delivery date is indicated by a red dot. Menu header: Depends on selected area PO list / resource list: all WOs/resources that were selected in the planning view are displayed, individually expanded. Time scale: Day, hour Gantt display: each individual assembly in turn has its own bar 11/13/2018

The timeline of a routing position is divided into three parts: 1. Transfer time, which is stored in days in the resource 2. The job time, based on set-up time and job time x number of units as per routing position 3. The idle time as per routing position. 4. Material entry 5. Routing positions can be freely moved You can configure what happens after the move. select the Settings tab and then select the desired setting in the After moving field. it is possible to undo the last action carried out in the graphical view. be.as stores the 10 most recent actions. 24 Working with APS (Resource Utilization)
Shows the overall utilization of the resource. 2. Resources Shows the individual operations which are currently dispatched to the resource. Resource utilization is divided into two areas. The first area shows the total capacity of the resource and the second area shows the operations dispatched to the resource. To activate these two displays, an operation must be selected. Select the Resource tab. You can now activate the relevant diagram using the buttons. 1: Utilization Shows the overall utilization of the resource. 2: Resources Shows the individual operations which are currently dispatched to the resource. 11/13/2018

To do this, select the operation and display the respective resources. In the lower area, you will now see all resources for which the operation can be planned and dispatched. 26 Working with APS (Grouping Function)
1. Hold down the Ctrl+ key and click on the routing positions 2. Click on the empty Gantt area, hold and drag a rectangle over all routing positions to be selected 3. Hold down the Ctrl+ key and click on the scale (upper timeline): All routing positions from that day are selected. As soon as more than one operation is selected in the Gantt display, the Group tab appears in the menu view. This tab provides various group functions. Multiple routing positions can be selected simultaneously as follows 1. Hold down the Ctrl+ key and click on the routing positions 2. Click on the empty Gantt area, hold and drag a rectangle over all routing positions to be selected 3.
