4. The green belt going around the top of the earth is known as the Boreal climate.
This is a cold climate.
The Tundra is the cold climate on top of the earth.

7. The boreal is mainly a forested area that stretches across land masses of the Northern hemisphere between 50 degrees north and the Artic Circle
The boreal has very cold winters, short warm summers and has low levels of precipitation.

Thick bark holds in moisture.
Thin leaves stops the foliage from being withered
Branches sloping down allow snow slide off.
Shallow roots as they cannot penetrate the frozen ground.

Avoids winters by hibernating.
Fur acts as an insulator keeping body warm in winter and cool in summer.
