1 What do you remember about the Origin of the Qur’an.
Whiteboard Where is the original copy of the Qur’an? What is the phase one of the revelation? What is the phase 2 of revelation like? Describe the 3 ways of revelation of the Qur’an to Muhammad. Who is the very beginning point of the message of the Qur’an? Did every prophet receive different message?

3 Surah 1 Al’Fatiha (The Opening)
Purpose of lesson Clarify how Sura 1 (anthology page 206)explains; - the declaration of Allah and the nature of submission to Allah.

Read and discuss carefully to workout the meaning of each verse of Surah 1 linking with the above statement. In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; Most Gracious, Most Merciful; Master of the Day of Judgment. Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek. Show us the straight way, The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.

Glorification of Allah God as The Most Merciful, The most Gracious and The Master God’s right to be worshipped alone This Surah is in fact is a prayer - supplication to seek guidance from Allah The Surah teaches that the best thing for a man is to pray for guidance to the straight path, to study the Quran The Lord of the Universe is the source of all knowledge. Therefore, Muslims begin the study of the Quran with a prayer to Him for guidance. It becomes clear that the real relation between Surah 1 - Al-Fatiha and the Quran is that of a prayer from a servant and its answer from the Master . The servant prays to Allah to show him guidance and the Master places the whole of the Quran before him in answer to his prayer, as if to say, "This is the Guidance you begged from Me."
