New Information RECEIVED PRONUNCIATION (RP) ‘Typically British’ ‘The Queen’s English’, ‘Oxford English’ ‘BBC English’ RP is an accent, not a dialect, since all RP speakers speak Standard English. Avoid non-standard grammatical constructions and localised vocabulary characteristic of regional dialects. RP is also regionally non-specific, that is it does not contain any clues about a speaker’s geographic background. But it does reveal a great deal about their social and/or educational background.

Eg: The task of the farm guard dog was to bark, alarm the yard and calm the last of the barn dancers. Write the same sentence out how you would say it: The tharsk of the fharm ghuard dhog was tho bhark, alharm the yhard and carm the lharst of the bharn dharncers.
