Click to add title Definitions of the emergencies: Flood – when there is too much water on normally dry land. Thunderstorm – a storm with thunder, lightning, strong winds and lots of rain. Heatwave – when it is very hot for many consecutive days and nights. Snowstorm – a storm with lots of snow and strong winds. Snowstorms are sometimes called blizzards. Earthquake – when the ground shakes. Hurricane – a large rotating storm with very strong winds that form over warm ocean water. Tsunami – a large wave that is caused by an underwater movement of the ground. Tornado – a violent rotating column of air extending from a thunderstorm to the ground. Forest fire – a big uncontrollable fire that occur in a forest. Volcanic eruption – when lava and gas explode out of a mountain that has a hole that goes deep into the earth.
