Work in your teams for ~10 mins – discuss what you are interested in and anything you want to add to the lists.

The Leadership team has developed a series of possible VA – detailed on the handout on page XX. Once I have explained our thoughts you will have time to think about our suggestions and add others that you have thought of.
But first let me explain a little more about each of our suggestions and how we see the VA playing out.
Implementation groups – this would involve a series of on-line meetings where first we plan for one of the actions outlined on the handout under this theme, and then each CA would begin implementing the plan, and in subsequent meetings discuss how the implementation is proceeding. I imagine a series of one hour calls. QUESTIONS?
The book reading study group is something many of you will be familiar with – we would pick one book and first discuss the most effective way to run a virtual book group, and then proceed to read the book and discuss, and in some cases maybe move to implementation of ideas depending on the circumstance. Again I envision calls QUESTIONS?
The third virtual possibility involves picking a topic and then reading and discussing a series of articles from the primary literature that provide evidence for effective practices, new directions, etc. QUESTIONS?
The next step is for you to think about what interests you and what would support your action plans. Work in your teams for 10 mins. You do not all have to do the same virtual activity. Add any new ideas to the big sticky notes.

Finally we know that scheduling is going to be a nightmare. We think that some of you do not teach on a Friday. If you do teach on a Friday please list your name on the Friday sticky, and if you know your teaching schedule for fall term please add that. We will not try to schedule the VA at this time but we will be in touch closer to the beginning of the semester to get your teaching schedules so we can see when it might work to hold the VA.
