Why have Goals ? Goals help you to be successful
Goals can help you set a direction for your life People with goals achieve more Example: Harvard Survey of 1st years. 3% had specific written goals, 13% had clear non-written goals, 84% had no specific goals. 10 years later…, the 13% were earning 2x as much $$ as the 84%,… the 3% were earning 10 x as much $$$$$$$$$$.!!

SMART Model System Specific: clear not vague
Measureable: can be measured or evaluated for progress Action: include a plan (do) Realistic: possible,achievable Timely: include a timeframe (when)

Sample SMART Goal Bad Example : I want to lose weight
Good Example : I want to lose 20 lbs. by April 1 , 2011 by going to the gym for a 30 minute work-out 3 times per week and by not eating any fast foods.
