Ends of bones, nose, trachae, larync, bronchi Provides smooth surface for movement, shock absorption, flexibility & support Weakest of the types

4 fibrocartilage Chondrocytes scattered Bundles of collagen
Intervertebral discs, pubic symphysis, menisci (knee), parts of tendons that insert into cartilage Provide support and fusion Strongest of the 3 also rigid

5 Elastic Cartilage Chondrocytes in a threadlike elastic fiber network
Epiglottis, external ear Provides support and maintains shapes
