How will I check my grade in class? Grade Scale
Mrs. Graff’s Class Woodward Middle School School Year How will I check my grade in class? Grade Scale Class progress reports will be sent home each midterm. Parents and students are also strongly encouraged to check the PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal on a weekly basis to view the most current grades for EVERY class. “Missing Work” will be posted in the classroom and updated regularly. A =90%- 100% B = 80% - 89% C = 70% - 79% D = 65% - 69% F = 0% - 64% What do I do if I am absent? Always check Google Classroom for notes, handouts, and assignment due dates. A student has two extra days to turn in any work assigned on a day a student was absent. If a quiz was administered on a day a student was absent, the quiz must be made up on the first day the student returns. If previously assigned work was due on the day of the absence, the work is due on the first day the student returns otherwise it is considered late and may receive partial credit. What happens if I turn in an assignment late? Work not completed and turned in by the assigned date is considered late. If a student is absent on the date work is due, the assignment is due the first day the student returns to school. COMPLETED LATE WORK MAY only receive partial credit. INCOMPLETE LATE WORK will not be graded until finished and will result in a zero for the assignment. What do I get if I follow class rules? Your appropriate behavior in class assures everyone of an environment conducive to learning. Some possible rewards for continuous appropriate behavior are: intrinsic value (satisfaction of learning), improved skills, verbal praise, positive note to parents, tangible trinkets, and special class activities / privileges. Supplies Composition Notebook Electronic Device Ear buds Twistables What are the consequences if I don’t follow class rules? 1. Warning: the teacher provides a verbal reprimand/reminder. 2. Script: the student will copy a scripts based on the infraction. 3. Detention: student will be assigned detention and parent will be contacted.. 4. Referral to Administration: student will be immediately referred to administration for severe behavior problems. What is an Interactive Student Notebook? The Interactive Student Notebook (ISN) is a portfolio of student work. The notebook will house teacher directed notes / activities and will showcase student understanding in a creative and unique manner. If a student is absent, they are responsible for getting their notes from Google Classroom and recording them in their notebook. There will be a place in the room for students to store their notebooks, but they can choose to keep them in a binder or take them home anytime they need to study or work on them.
