Electron microscopy of collagen component. Sample was prepared as described in Material and Methods section. The sample contained many small fibrils 3 to 10 nm in diameter as well as larger fibrils, banded and nonbanded. The large fibril shown here has a maximum diameter of about 80 nm. (×72,000 before 56% reduction.)
