When will I get my device?
§Every incoming freshman will get their own device during registration on JULY 17, 2017 §Each participant will pay an annual non- refundable usage fee of $25.00

Keep charger and laptop in case at all times.

What if I lose my device? Parents/Legal Guardians must sign the Mobile Device Loan and Damage/Loss Agreement before the student can start participating in the initiative. If a device is accidently damaged, the student will be responsible for a $40 repair fee. The student must file a police report, if the device is lost or stolen. If the device is unable to be recovered in working condition, the student will pay a $100 replacement fee and receive another device.

Students do research, explore through field trips and hands-on experiences, then transfer learning onto online Web 2.0 tools.

Reminders The following actions are prohibited: Bypassing the filter
Using another student's username or password Sharing passwords (other than with your parents) Tampering with hardware Downloading or installing software that has NOT been approved Using chat rooms, IM, social networking, hosting non-school-approved web pages Accessing inappropriate material that is unacceptable in a school setting

Is getting the laptop mandatory?
Students are highly encouraged to participate in the DNA laptop initiative in order to build technology skills that are necessary for career and college readiness. If a parent declines,staff, admin and librarians must speak to child;if they still wish to decline, we must contact Instructional Technology Is getting the laptop mandatory?

Is there a safe place for the students to put their laptop if they participate in after school programs? Students should be vigilant of all valuables including their personal belongings and the school laptop. Lockers are available through fine arts and athletics.

What online resources are available to assist my child with his/her assignments?

Do they get wireless internet (Wifi) access?
All Socorro ISD facilities provide wireless internet access that students can connect to by using their district username and password. A limited amount of hotspots are available for checkout through AHS library.
