Categorize comments into sub-categories Review categories and sort by completed items, items to work on and items that are unable to be addressed Nursing, Leadership, and Infrastructure make up 69% of the overall breakdown

Respect and Culture: There is an opportunity to work on how we treat each other to ensure we maintain a level of professionalism, respect and trust so we can do what is best for our patients as a team. Joint MD/RN Hospitalist Leadership meetings to ensure routine communication and collaboration Develop plan for improving relationships between the Hospitalist Service and the RNs on Hospitalist units Develop plan for routine communication with RN groups on non-Hospitalist units Clinical Skill: There is an opportunity to improve the clinical, technical, and overall competencies that nurses need to care appropriately for the patient. Develop list from Hospitalist Service on opportunities for improvement across Hospitalist units Discuss list and develop protocols at recurring Joint MD/RN Hospitalist Leadership meetings Standard Operational Protocols: There is an opportunity to develop standard operating procedures regarding, but not limited to, MET calls, when a patient expires, and overall communication protocols. Develop list from Hospitalist Team on inconsistencies across Hospitalist units Clarity of Roles and Responsibilities: There is an opportunity to clearly define the roles and responsibilities of the RNs, and to create better definition of the roles that the unit Medical Directors in ensuring collaborative relationships Develop list from Hospitalist Team on confusion around what nurses can/can’t do across Hospitalist units Discuss list and develop protocols at Joint MD/RN Hospitalist Leadership meetings Workload: The lack of adequate staffing leads to dissatisfaction and the feeling of being overworked. Share nursing productivity grid to demonstrate appropriate staffing. Perhaps perceptions of understaffing are due to above-mentioned issues.
