However, The film also features many songs written and recorded by singer-songwriter Elliott Smith. His song "Miss Misery" was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, but lost to "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic. Elliot Smith's musical contribution gave the movie the atmosphere and quality it deserved which allowed the film to be nominated 9 times, and helped win 2 academies awards for best supporting and best written film.

9. Why I like this Movie
The first time I saw this movie, it made me feel like I can be myself. It also allowed me to look for a career in helping others. There isn't a single time that I can remember were someone told me it was okay to be myself. For whatever reason, I allowed people to convince me that I was someone that I wasn't. I went through many transition trying to figure out where I fit in. Often times, I found myself in the most strangest and such cliched situations involving masculine culture or group behaviour that it drove me into depression. Importantly, this movie alone allowed me to break off the shackles of self-destruction. This moved me into a world of self-discovery and self-acceptance This movie is not only a great film with great actors. This movie emphasis a message that teaches us that learning to be honest with yourself can allow us to lead better lifestyle and well- being. That is way, I like this movie.
