Background Group of people who wanted to share the pleasure of watching films together Society has been going for 15 years, charity for 3 years with 2 aims: annual screening season and Festival Audiences of at monthly screenings and 80% capacity at Festival – 99 bed nights, 2500 tickets, national publicity, revenue for town Each monthly screening costs about £200 for venue rental and license and 6 hours of volunteer time Screening venues have to be licensed separately if you screen more than 6 times in any location Digital Cinema Package (DCP) vs. DVD Comfort, sight-lines and accessibility

Eden Court partnership Removes license cost from our operations Allows access to first run cinema Advertising Online ticket sales Training and technical advice Dependent upon having DCP equipment (dedicated projection room) 1-2 screenings per week (including children/family films) Rental to business and community groups, gaming events, and conference facilities

Proposed Site Examined all potential existing buildings
Townlands Barn is a possibility but a difficult A-listed building and a compromise on comfort, space and sightlines Purpose built provides best possibility for meeting objectives Of all sites the harbour along from the Slaughterhouse is considered the best option Based on this have prepared drawings for a 30 seat cinema with a projected cost of £230,000

Proposed Development Funding possibility from LEADER but must be complete by Oct Response to initial conversations has been extremely positive and there is up to £100,000 available – encouraged to submit Also looking at other funding sources, Creative Scotland, SSE, crowdfunding etc. Next step is planning application, for which we have already budgeted
